FAQs

Is hypnotherapy safe?

Yes. Hypnosis is simply the bringing together of the conscious and subconscious minds. It creates a deeply relaxed state of the body, mind and emotions. It is also a perfectly natural state that we are often in during our everyday lives, for example, whilst reading a book, watching television or doing repeated tasks. It can be likened to daydreaming.

What is ‘solution focused’ hypnotherapy?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a very effective type of therapy which focuses on solutions to problems rather than the problems themselves. Our role is to guide you in identifying small, achievable changes that you want to make, which will help you achieve your preferred future.

How can solution focused hypnotherapy help me?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, IBS, loss, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, pain management, phobias, sleep issues, sports performance, stopping smoking/vaping, stress, trauma and weight loss. However, if you have an issue that you don’t see listed here, please contact us and we will see if we can help you.

During the therapy session we will guide you into a relaxed state. This state is hugely beneficial, as your brain is not only at its optimum resting point, but also at its optimum productivity. In this relaxed state, the subconscious mind accepts suggestions to promote and reinforce positive messages. So all suggestions that are positive and solution focused will be taken on board.

What happens during the Initial Consultation?

The Initial Consultation lasts for approximately 50 minutes. We will take some details from you and ask you what you would like the hypnotherapy to help you with (for example anxiety, confidence, stress etc). We will explain how the mind works in relation to your particular issue, outline the process of hypnosis and answer any questions you may have. We will agree an approximate number of sessions and once you have booked your first session you will receive the password to access our relaxation track to listen to before we start the process.

What happens during subsequent sessions?

The subsequent sessions also last for approximately 50 minutes. We begin by reviewing how things have been since our last session and highlight what’s gone well. We review how the mind works. We ask you questions which are specifically designed to encourage positive responses. To consolidate our work we complete the session with hypnosis, which most people find very relaxing.

How much will it cost?

General therapy costs £80 per session. Sessions usually take place weekly and you can decide how many or how few sessions you wish to attend.

Our stop smoking / vaping therapy is £295.

Phobia therapy is £295.

How many sessions will it take?

The number of sessions required varies. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is generally a rapid psychological approach compared with other forms of psychotherapy and many clients notice significant changes after between three and six sessions.

Stop smoking / vaping requires one session lasting two hours (which includes the Initial Consultation).

Phobia therapy requires an Initial Consultation plus three 50-minute sessions.
